What's the trick? You might be tempted to find the AREA (length x width) of the rectangle instead of the PERIMETER. Remember, the formula for finding the perimeter of a rectangle is length+length+width+width OR 2 x (length + width). The perimeter is the total distance around shape. The area tells you the amount of surface (think of the surface of a table) the shape covers.
